Mechanical Engineers design, develop, and maintain machinery, from engines and turbines to HVAC systems and elevators, using principles like kinetics and thermodynamics to power industries and everyday life.

Description

Mechanical Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, operating, and maintaining power-producing and power-utilizing machinery. Their work spans a wide range of equipment, from simple mechanisms to complex systems like electric generators, internal combustion engines, steam and gas turbines, as well as refrigeration and air-conditioning units. They also design equipment within buildings, such as elevators and escalators.

By applying foundational principles such as kinetics and thermodynamics (the study of heat and mechanical power), mechanical engineers are equipped to create diverse machinery and analyze processes to meet the operational and manufacturing goals of an organization.
